You Paid How Much?, March 11 ✈️
Weddings, rest, mileage earning, plus year-round travel deals ✈️
Happy Monday, kinfolk.
I’m writing from sunny but not-too-humid Cancun, where I spent four days for the wedding of one of my dearest friends, LaNita.
The resort wasn’t a rewards hotel, so I didn’t earn points or nights toward status, but I did earn 5x Capital One Miles on the booking, so that’s still good news.
Getting here was a breeze. I flew Delta nonstop from JFK, though I made a rookie mistake in booking a basic economy ticket, so I couldn’t get into the SkyClub lounge at JFK. However, my Amex Platinum did come in handy at Cancun’s airport to get into the Mera Business Lounge (a Plaza Premium lounge) in Terminal 4.

The hotel, Le Blanc Cancun, is definitely older (and pricier), but the service was prompt and professional. This all-inclusive had a solid list of amenities: multiple restaurants, a spa, hydrotherapy, plenty of pools, and direct beach access.
The wedding was beautiful. It was lovely to see people from both of their lives gather to witness their union. We had a blast—drinking by the pool, getting to know each other, and swapping stories about the couple—which made the four days here seem much shorter.
I am filled with love, extremely sunburnt, and exhausted, but it was a nice respite away from hectic New York. There’s a lot on the agenda for the spring and summer, personally and professionally, and I feel refreshed and ready to hit the ground running.
Let’s get into these deals.

Travel Deals from Vikkie
As you'll see below, there are pretty solid deals throughout the year.
Some of these deals are in the most restrictive fare basic economy class. You’ll be limited in the number of carry-on and checked bags you can bring, plus you likely won’t be able to select your seat until check-in. The deals are still pretty cheap, but these are restrictions to consider before booking.
